A customer, using Quickbooks for her small business, called in the other day.  She was having problems opening and printing reports in the program.  Despite having a locally installed printer set as her default, when she opened a report, the program attempted to print to the Quickbooks PDF Converter and would get locked up.  Some trouobleshooting and research on the Quickbooks support site yielded the following resolution.

Issue: Quickbooks PDF Converter Failing

System: Windows XP and Windows 7, Quickbooks 10.0 / 11.0

Error Code: None displayed.  Program freezes.

Solution:

  •  In the Printers and Devices window, delete the Quickbooks PDF Converter.

  •  Right-click the Quickbooks icon on the desktop and choose Properties

  •  Select Find Target

  • Find and double click Install.exe

  • Select OK after the installation finishes.

  • In the Printers and Devices window, right-click the Amyuni Document Converter and select Printer Properties

  • Rename the printer to the correct name:

    -   QuickBooks PDF Converter: QuickBooks 2007, 2008, 2009 R1-R8, 2009 R11

    -   QuickBooks PDF Converter 2.0: QuickBooks 2010 R1-R2, QuickBooks 2010 R6 and above

    -   QuickBooks PDF Converter 3.0: QuickBooks 2009 R9-R10, QuickBooks 2010 R3-R5
